The silver-gray tom found today to be quite the bore. There wasn't anything going on, and since he was sitting in the shade alone, there really wasn't any reason to get up and patrol. A deputy he may have been, he hated these days that were slow, that seemed to go on for much longer than a normal day. He blinked his golden eyes, yawning widely as he flicked his tail from side to side, slowly, his paws together in such a way as to bring even more elegance into his figure. His half-open gaze scanned the camp, searching for anyone, medicine cat, warrior, apprentice, leader. There was practically no one up at this hour, he guessed. He usually got up this early, but most of the time, there were other warriors that followed. As the sun finally lifted high enough to cover camp, he sighed again and kept to the shadows even more. "Boring..." he sighed.

Having finished eating the small seagull that he had captured before dawn, Mottledsun exited his den with a surprising amount of ease for the bulk that enveloped his body. The brown tortoiseshell tom-cat sat down not far away from his deputy, nodding his head in greeting and scanning the camp that was currently devoid of life...well, practically. Swiping a white paw over his head, Mottledsun yawned briefly, something that he would only do in front of his deputy. A sure sign of trust, especially since Mottledsun was the most open with his deputy- yes, this was 'open' for him. There was a slight gleam of happiness in his flaming gold-green eyes, something that only a cat who knew him well would notice.

OoC: I hope that everyone knows that calico/tortoiseshell toms DO NOT EXSIST! At least, they're so rare that it's amazing to see one. And if they do happen to appear, they're sterile, meaning they cannot have kits. ' I think I've seen WAY too many tortoiseshell toms...
iC: "Having a good morning?" Clearcatch meowed, blinking over at Mottledsun. He had noticed that little gleam. It was his leader's way of showing how much trust and respect he had towards him. "There isn't much to report so early," he continued, closing his eyes and purring, lightly, "We're doing well."

ooc: Yes, ma'am! *salutes* Well, he's not really a tortoiseshell. He's more just mottled-like. *inspects image in head* Yup, more like it. And in the future, I won't make any tortie toms! *nodnod* Ya, I don't have time to post right now...getting kicked off the computer. AGAIN. *grrface* xDD

ooc: Yeah, I guess it is, now that I think about it. *shifty eyes* XD *runs off to post*
Mottledsun glanced over at Clearcatch with a small purr, a contented expression on his face. "It's peaceful in the morning." The burly tom nodded his assent to his deputy's report, before meowing, "You think a hunting patrol should go out, or wait 'till later?" He preferred to ask his cat's opinions rather than to just boss them around.

"Seeing as the pile is low but still full enough for the cats we have, I think later would be fine," Clearcatch meowed, studying the fresh-kill for a moment. He was content with this answer; it would give him time for himself this morning, when he would be able to groom and sit in silence somewhere comfortable. A little time alone was always good, even with all the other cats in camp looking at each other with googly eyes and acting embarassed. The younger cats were very entertaining to watch, indeed, for when it came to such things as a life companion or mate, they were always so confused. He, himself, had once been like that, though his efforts had been in vain. He sighed at the thought, closing his eyes and shaking his head, not meaning to show such a break down of emotion in front of his leader. He couldn't help but feel very alone in this territory, with this clan.

Mottledsun smiled, knowing how Clearcatch enjoyed his solitude, just like he did. He dipped his head in farewell to the tom-cat, before disappearing into his dead, both of his golden-amber eyes visible as he watched his Clan.
But Clearcatch was not to be left alone just yet. Slipping out of the warrior's den with a sleepy yawn, the silver-pelted she-cat flounced over to the deputy, meowing happily, "G'mornin', Clearcatch. Patrol goin' out?" She sat down delicately, her expressive tail whipping chipperly behind her.

Clearcatch blinked his eyes as a farewell to his leader, and had been about to move, until the silver she-cat had appeared. He remained seated where he was and blinked again. She was a friend of his, though he had a hard time remembering her name, like many others. "No, not yet, we've decided that we will wait until the sun is higher before sending cats out. Don't want any trouble, and we should be fine until then," he replied. He almost gulped, trying to stifle his fear of she-cats. After one broken heart, another would surely shatter him. He was nervous about everyone, but she-cats most definately made him panic.

Tilting her head in that curious way of hers, Jadewind listened intently to her deputy before smiling and meowing, "Sounds good t'me." She turned to leave, her sleek muscles briefly rippling beneath her pelt, before turning around and meowing, "Call me if a patrol goes out, please? Have a good one, Clearcatch!" She then yawned widely and trotted over to a sunny spot, seeming to delicately choose her place before unceremoniously flopping over onto her side, giggling a little bit as she made a loud 'whoomp' sound. Closing her leaf-jade eyes, she appeared to fall asleep. Then she became bored, sat up, and began drawing pictures in the ground, giggling softly to herself all the while, being a she-cat who loved other cat's company but had no problem in being by herself. All she needed was something interesting...like the ground.

))*proud for actually being logged in*
Dreampaw and Coldpaw need mentors. Coldpaw is very strict and forward, while Dreampaw is, well, a dreamer. She spends alot of her time zoning out and staring into the distance. I think Jadewind might be a good mentor for her. And either Clearcatch or Mottledsun for Coldpaw. *nodnod*((
"I shall be going with you," a deep, dreamy voice said, a fluffy gray tom coming up to them. Tide's silver-blue eyes watched the two briefly, giving each a small nod. "I'm nearly out of horsetail and my supply of cobwebs is down." He smiled his usual, small smile. "Besides, it'll be nice to get out of camp for a while." As he turned his head to casually lick his shoulder, several deep scars along his throat became visible. The tom's other major scar was one that ran from his mid-thigh on his back right leg, down to his mid-forepaw. That was the one that had taken the longest to heal. His constant limp was now only faintly visible when he walked, fading a little more each day.

))I'm logged in too! Yay! Finally...xDD Mmmkay, Mottledsun'll have the ceremony in a bit- unless you meant that I should just assign them and pretend that they've been their mentors all along. *shifty eyes*((
Jadewind's ears pricked up as she heard their Medicine Cat's voice, and she turned and nearly bounded over, meowing a quietly chipper, "G'mornin!" She sat down, listening intently as she tilted her head again, leaf-jade eyes curious and excited. "Herbs? Cool! I've only collected herbs a little. I mean, I have no memory whatsoever so I really can't remember all their names 'n what they look like 'n-" She stopped, grinning happily as the day started with her Clanmates.

"Ah, alright, Tide," Clearcatch meowed, smiling. As Jadewind returned, he regained his nervous attitude and blinked. "If I can find one more warrior or apprentice, we'll just go now," he added, lowering his head slightly, looking at his paws.

"What about Coldpaw or Dreampaw?" Jadewind asked brightly, trying to help out by suggesting cats to Clearcatch. But then her keen eyes saw a butterfly. Zipping to one side she pounced on it, rolling onto her back and batting it between her paws before huffing air onto it and watching it fly staggeredly through the air with soft giggles.

))Actually, we should probably give Coldpaw to Jadewind and Dreampaw to the other warrior. Coldpaw will do Jadewind some good, and Clearcatch/Mottledsun will do Dreampaw some good. But, yesh, I think we should just poof the mentors. *nodnod*((

OoC: Is Dreapaw a she-cat? 'Cause it'd do Clearcatch some good to get used to she-cats. He's very nervous around them, as you can see. xP
iC: Clearcatch nodded. "How about Coldpaw, then?" he suggested, looking between the rest of the cats around him, "Then we can go."

((Sounds good to me! Yesh, Dreampaw shall go to Clearcatch and Coldpaw go to Jadewind. xDD Ya, and Dreampaw's a she-cat.))
Jadewind tilted her head, thinking a bit about this situation. "Okay." She meowed brightly in agreement, stretching her lanky limbs and watching the other cats with bright and excited eyes.

OoC: I think I'll wait for someone else to reply. I'd like to say that Dark isn't allowed on the computer at her dad's house, where she is most of the time, so we may not see her a lot. Don't fret, though, she's going to try to get on as much as she can. I hope that I can talk to her on the phone over the week, but it's no garuntee this week, since I have work almost every day, including Friday and Saturday. >_>;;;;;;; I don't have work Monday or Thursday, though..... Anyway, I'll try to keep in touch with you and her and keep you all posted. *nods*
